Wakasagi smelt fishing
The Sarufutsu River is known as a place inhabited by Japanese huchen, a rare fish. In winter, this river attracts many anglers as a wakasagi smelt fishing spot.
Visitors can casually enjoy snowshoeing in Sarufutsu Village, where approximately 80% of the vast land is surrounded by unspoiled nature.
SS Indigirka Memorial monument for victims
This memorial monument for the more than 700 victims of the grounding accident involving the former Soviet Union’s SS Indigirka is a symbol of friendship transcending national borders.
